Whether a person is using one of my cups, viewing one of my sculptures, living in a home I designed, or taking one of my ceramic workshops, my ultimate goal is to create a space where folks can explore, discover, and become inspired.

Hi! I’m Kris Erickson.

I am a ceramic artist who lives, teaches, and creates in Southern California.

After moving from rural Connecticut to the Chicago suburbs when I was a kid, I found it challenging to make new friends with whom I could relate. It was suggested that I take a class at the local community art center. When I entered that studio, I was lucky to find my people + passion and was forever changed.

I continued to create in clay for 13 years, during which I also worked as a carpenter's apprentice. In 2000, I moved to Los Angeles to study at Otis College Of Art+Design with a focus on furniture and architectural design. After receiving a BFA in Environmental Art in 2003, I went on to design homes, restaurants, and other spaces.

In 2010, after a 10-year break from ceramics, I returned to working with clay. It was like coming home, and I haven't turned back since. Currently, I am a practicing studio potter in Pomona, CA. I also teach ceramics at various studios in Southern California.
